This photo of America's Gerry  Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, with Barbi and Al Mora was
taken at a post-performance meet and greet on April 13, 2008 at the University of Michigan in

2006.  Sylvia Mora, Al's sister.  She and Al loved to sing
together as children, and Sylvia has been a singer and violinist
in
Mariachi De Colores (mariachidecolores.com) for many
years.  With the recording of
Sing Your Song, Sylvia and Al
realized a lifelong dream of recording an original together.
January 2006.  Dad and Samantha working on a song in our
basement studio.  Mom took the photos.
Albert, Barbi, Samantha, and her twin sisters went to see America perform at the
Amphitheater at Fairbanks Park in Terra Haute, Indiana in May 2006.  The
America equipment is ready just minutes before the start of the show.
America opens with Riverside.  The Amphitheater is set on the shore of the
Wabash River - how appropriate!
America was the highlight of the 2006
Terra Haute Memorial Day Weekend Music and Art Festival.
Barbi, Samantha, and a new friend we met in line to meet Gerry and Dewey.
Our new friend brought the America album for Gerry and Dewey to sign.
2000.  Barbi Mora, Al's wife and Sam's mommy.  This
was the cover photo for the first Free Verse CD,
released in 2000.  Taken at the foot of Newport Pier in
Newport Beach, California.  The images of people in the
background were removed for the CD cover.
1982.  Front:  Erica Nann - a model who did a very brief stint
as singer.  Back (left to right):  Gerry Magallan, Dan
Rodriguez, Al Mora, Pete Galvan, Chris Guerra.  The neon Free
Verse sign was a gift from fans.
1985.  Front:  Pete Galvan.  Back (left to right):  Dan
Rodriguez, Al Mora, Gabe Medina.
1999.  At this time Al was playing almost every Friday and
Saturday night in front of the Donut Shop at the foot of
Newport Pier in Newport Beach, California.

Spring 2006.  This was originally intended to be the cover of a new CD,
but instead of creating a new CD we decided to add our new songs to
From
London to LA
.  We'll create a new CD when we have more material.
Around 1974.  Practicing in a basement.  Top Left to Right: Ric Coy,
Sax; Gerry Magallan, Trumpet; Dan Rodriguez, Bass; Chris Guerra,
keyboards; Mario Moreno, Guitar.  Bottom: Peaches, Drums; Cesar
Salinas, Congas.  This lineup placed 2nd in the 1973 Chicago FM LOOP
Battle of the Bands and placed 1st in 1974.  Their average age here
was 16!  The band's powerful renditions of Chicago and Santana tunes
were notorious, and Gerry Magallan wrote several originals including
the  catchy "Stay With Me Tonight."
1981.  Left to right:  Al Mora, Dan Rodriguez, Unknown, Pete Galvan,
Unknown, Chris Guerra, Gerry Magallan.  Free Verse hits the road in
matching GQ outfits.  Some of the guys hated the matching outfits, but
agents and club owners insisted on them.
1981.  Al grins as he tries to squeeze some feeling out of his Les Paul.
1981.  Janesville, Wisconsin.  Cathy Nordman was the female singer for
a brief time.  Several other female singers quickly came and went.
1981.  A clipping from a newspaper on the road.  The small

1989.  After Free Verse, Al worked in the The Big Apple Band out of Chicago for a year, then
joined Free Verse's age-old rival, Together, for three years.  Together was founded in the
early-70s and is among Chicagoland's most-recognized bands.  They are the Chicago Bulls
unofficial/official band, and have performed alongside many of the greatest Motown, Latin,
and Disco acts.  In 2006 Together recorded an original CD, titled "Just a Taste," currently
available.  Learn more at

Front (left to right):  George Roldan (vocals & percussion), Ray Flores (vocals & percussion),
Vince (keyboards).  Back (left to right):  Lucio "Beto" Barrajas (lead vocal), Craig Spann
(vocals & bass), Al Mora (guitar), Val Miranda (drums).
On December 11, 2004, Al took Barbi and Samantha to see America as a Christmas
present.  The concert was outstanding, and Al was able to photograph Barbi and Sam
with America's
Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley.  The Moras have since become
die-hard
America concertgoers.
Al and his sister Sylvia Mora sang together often as children and
realized a dream when they recorded the Free Verse original
Sing Your
Song
.  Sylvia is singer and bandleader of Mariachi De Colores
(mariachidecolores.com).
